Development of a policy implementation plan

Project objectives:
Under the framework contract held by Poseidon (in association with Oceanic and Megapesca) to evaluate all fisheries partnership agreements, the Commission can draw upon technical assistance for ad hoc work to support policy advice and implementation contributing to responsible fisheries.

Poseidon services provided:
On the request of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, support was provided to the Ministry Fisheries Policy Unit and the Seychelles Fishing Authority, for the specification of a policy implementation plan. This plan articulated policy goals, strategies and activities in a logical hierarchy, and provided detailed monitoring and evaluation indicators, time bound responsibilities, and annual and multi-annual budgets over a five year period.
