FISH4ACP oyster value chain analysis and design of upgrading strategy

Project objectives:
FISH4ACP is a global programme supporting fisheries and aquaculture value chain development in 12 countries. Poseidon staff led a team of FAO and national consultants to analyse the oyster value chain in The Gambia, and through extensive consultations developed a value chain upgrading strategy. The strategy was underpinned by functional and sustainability (economic, social, and environmental) and resilience assessments. A detailed implementation plan for the project and longer term upgrading strategy was developed.
