Project objectives:
The Eastern Atlantic purse seine fisheries improvement project (FIP) - detailed action plan was prepared by Poseidon Aquatic Resource Management Ltd, a UK based fisheries consultancy firm.

Poseidon provided the detailed action plan (AP) for a prospective FIP for most of European Union (EU) and third country-flagged purse seine vessels fishing for tuna in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean with the purpose of landing their catches in main fishing ports in West Africa.

The plan is based on, and an update of, the scoping document of the FIP drafted in June 2017. The proposed detailed activities were adapted from the detailed action plan for the ‘Sustainable Indian Ocean Tuna Initiative’ (SIOTI) FIP too.
