Global review of the status and trend of fish being used as aquafeeds

Project objectives:
The focus of this global review will be to collate, analyze and synthesize information on the status and trends of fish and/or other aquatic species being used as aquafeeds and its current and potential alternative uses including human consumption and the economic feasibility. The review should specifically address the role of reduction fisheries may play on food security and poverty alleviation in the region and elsewhere including sustainability of these finite resources and environmental implication of direct use of fish as feed.
Poseidon services provided:
Poseidon will collate regional reports and case studies from South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Based on these, a Poseidon staff member will facilitate an international workshop to be held in late 2007.
