Project objectives:
This project aimed to increase knowledge and understanding about the relationship between trade liberalisation, and poverty and sustainable development in developing countries. The study identified options for national and international fisheries and trade policies, and made recommendations on key research areas. Poseidon contributed an expert in fisheries trade and poverty to the project team, and worked specifically on issues of certification, labelling, and traceability schemes and their potential impacts.
