Project objectives:
This work formed part of the EC Framework contract to examine the prospects for a fisheries partnership agreement between the EC and Kiribati.
Poseidon services provided:
The analysis covered a description of the the island's economy, a fisheries sector survey (e.g. policy, management, marketing, resources, etc), and an assessment of the impacts of a possible future fisheries agreement. These impacts included conservation and environmental issues, and the economic costs and benefits generated from an agreement to the partner countries.
