Project objectives:
This assignment involved completing an ex ante evaluation of a possible Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the EU and Angola. Field visits to Angola and consultations in the EU allowed the evaluation to assess the needs and interests of the two parties with respect to an agreement,. The evaluation included a fisheries sector overview in Angola focussing on governance arrangements (policy, legislation, management arrangements), stakeholders, stock/resource status, etc. Possible options for a future agreement were assessed against evaluation critiria and recommendations made.
